Video Frame Rate
Management

This video file displays three content scenarios that have frame rate goals in order to manage power/accuracy trade-offs in a variety of different content conditions of output encoding.

These scenarios are indicative of how dynamic configuration to a goal outperforms static responses to the same content; a system statically configured will use its full power regardless of the content. A Self-Aware™ system changes its configuration and power consumption dynamically based upon its goals (frame rate, accuracy, power constraint, etc.)

A standard VLC was used after its configuration space was made configurable and a frame rate goal was established.

Notable is the fact that frame rate management is a simple matter of just changing the goal at any time.

(The words “HOF” in the video refers to our internal code for Self-Aware conditions.)
